Just a quick question, I'm thinking about buying EAA Witness full size in 9mm, and I hear that you can buy conversion kits for full size frames. So my question is can you convert 9mm Witness to a 40s&w? or is it only to .22lr? I'm not so clear about this issue, and couldn't really find any research on it either.
I'll looking for either a 9mm or a 40s&w, the conversion kits are just a bonus, and a full size two, maybe there's other models that are possible to convert with a kit, but this is the least expensive for me and not too many negatives on the Witness.

From what I have learned is ,you will have to make sure that it is what they call a "large frame". Than you can do the conversions. The way you can know if it is a large frame is by the serial number.I believe the prefix should be: CA,CB,CC,CD,or CE. That is anything made after 2005.If made earlier than that than they are "small frame". EAA can be reached at 321-639-4842 for more help. I hope this is helpful.

The older small frame pistols can convert from 9mm to .40 to .22. The large frame pistols can be converted to any caliber. I have seen guys put compact slides on full size pistols and vice versa.

Yeah I called them, they weren't really helpfull, I guess the customer service I have read about is true. I e-mail tanfoglio, and they basicly quoted you. Thank you for the info guys. Oh one more question do any of the local shop sell "new" "large frames"? because I only seen them used, I prefer it in new condition since they're under 500$.

I was at MC Sports in Bloomington a couple weeks ago, two Witness Elite Matches in the case, one .40 and one 9mm. The .40 had the older non-railed frame (still large frame) and the 9mm had the newer railed frame, they added the rail late '09 I believe.

As for the frame cracking in 10mm, I did a TON of research on these before I bought one. From what I've read, all of the frame cracked issues were from before they made the jump to all large frames a few years back, apparently no problems in the last few years.

Tanfoglio = Meatwad gun :) If you have ever watched Aqua Teen Hunger Force, this is the handgun that Meatwad likes to pack.

I might be picking up one in a week.

I thank you for you help bud. YeahI read that they did on one of the other forms. Well I got to say I'm still going to be skeptical about, but from what I have read the 9mm has basicly no problems and not many own the 40.
I'm actually torn right now between 3 guns, well 2 in one. The Witness 9mm-the argument for that is cheaper ammo to shoot and I don't have a 9mm(got a 380 and 45 Bersas), and Witness 40. But then I can switch to either a 9 or a 40, depend what they have at the store when I buy it. With the coversion kit its cheaper and I personally like better, I don't know I'm open to hear suggestions on the caliber. But I'm also having trouble finding them in new conditions, don't wanted it used, I had really bad experience with used guns.
The third gun is phoenix ph22, those are under 200$ and I don't know what but for the past month I just wanted a little 22lr. I think there is little guy siting inside my head just going "Senior buy the 22" LMAO. Just for plinking fun. Or just any 22lr or 32 used I guess after a long and picky inspection. from my research those are even harder to find then the witnesses.
The witness I'm still in the stage of research and I don't want the 10mm I prefer the 40 more common then the 10mm and little cheaper.

That's kind of what sold me, the frame fits my hand well, 9mm is common and not horribly expensive, and later on I can have a .40, .45, or even .22LR on the same frame. I've read a lot of reviews that claimed the Elite Match outshoots most 1911's in the $1000 range, for half the price.
I'm not nearly good enough to tell that, but I bought a gun my shooting skill can "grow" into.

Hey ok, so I got the money and going to go either in 2 weeks or for sure by the end of the month to buy the EAA Witness in either 9mm or 40s&w. So I was wondering if anyone can give me a location where they possibly sell the Witness, not used in new, and the price. Or just where I can find it at the lowest price, I just don't want to drive far nor pay over 500$ for it since I seen it couple times for about 400$-470$. Thank you.
I will stop at MC Sports, but I'll probably call them about the price before hand.

Yep I'm just hoping to find one in either a 9mm or 40 full size, don't care if its steel or poly either, seem right now its hard to find one fullsize though.

If I remember right, when I was at MC in Bloomington a few weeks ago, they were under $550... I bought mine a little cheaper online almost a year ago, and prices have risen a bit since. Even Bud's has them listed almost $550. So MC sounds like they have a reasonable price, and they were fullsize steel frames.
I can't remember for sure which was which, but I believe the .40 they had was the non-railed frame, and the 9mm they had was the railed frame (like mine, and the one posted above)

Thank man yeah nice pictures, witness porn there. Yeah I'm gonig to go today to check at Mc Sport, I don't do online buys, I been charged for a Bersa 380 over and over for 5 days so I rather just buy it from a gun shop with out the charges to ship.
yeah I rather get a railed frame I think it just add to accuracy. If I do get it today I'll post the picture, well I got 1 that poly and other is steel. So I don't really care as far a steel or poly, I do like it black though. Thank for all your input guys.:patriot:

Bradis has the Witness Steel in .40 and 9mm for $369. MC Sports in Bloomington has the Match and the Poly in different configurations in stock as well.
Yep, Just was over at Bradis, think I'm gonig to go with them, they got full size and like you said both price for the 40 and 9mm. Didn't go to MC Sport, nor have I ever been there though, how much is it over there for? I think next week or for sure at the end of the month.
You know Bradis actually is the only place I found good deals so far and nice service from the staff as well as explanations, even when I wasn't buying anything.
