Earth Blasted With X-Class Flare, Sparking "Largest Solar Radio Event Ever Recorded"

CME hitting now, just a bit over kp5. Meh, nothing. The xray flare that caused the cme was though. They are two very different type of events, an xray flare would never take down the grid for example just muck up electronic signals. The CME forecast was off by more than a day(it was moving much slower than the models predicted).

bump for the largest solar storm we have had in 21 years, with only 3 of the projected 7 CME impacts having taken place. KP 8 currently down from a 9(the highest) with 4 impacts still on the way.
