    Make sure your gas tank never goes below half full.

    In a large scale disaster, you may need to get out of town quickly, and if the electricity is out, you aren't going to be getting gas anywhere nearby.

    It won't do much good to have everything prepped to leave in an emergency, only to find your gas tank on empty.

    I like the idea and practice it religiously. But I still think rule #1 of zombieland is cheaper, easier and more essential ;).

    We try and practice this. We also keep a fair amount stored at home and on the BO route.
    The service truck is always full and I have some nice fuel transfer pumps.

    I top off the Suburban every week for this exact reason. It also reduces the blow of buying 40 gallons of fuel at one time!
