I typed up a detailed post about this but my browser crashed and I do not want to redo it, so bottom line if someone tries to sell you an Elcan SpecterDR 1-4x replica with the serial number 10-03086 it is worth about $230-$250. Its a very, very good copy and may even be functional but it is designed for airsoft. The seller is currently asking several times this on armslist and is being honest that its a replica/clone, but claims the value is higher and obliquely hinting that it may even be genuine. Consider this a PSA for those in the market for a used one, because its a much better copy than what is found on ebay and I'm sure people have fallen pretty to resellers claiming this is part of a gen 3 SU-230/PVS with mil-spec reticle overrun.
It took me hours on google images to find the exact replica (once more--for google--with the serial number 10-03086) so here's my good-guy effort for the day. Hopefully the next guy that googles the serial will get this post as a result now.

To be honest the string and battery cap are the only overt tells. Its color and marking accurate, the glass looks great, and the adjustments feel positive. I doubt the durability is there though.
