I was hoping to clarify and discuss some things regarding the position of Speaker of the House.

    • How & when is the new speaker determined? I know that an internal election is held within the House. How are the candidates determined? How many are allowed to run?

    • I heard something interesting that there is nothing in the constitution that requires the Speaker of the House to be a currently sitting representative. Though, it has never happened that a non-House-member sat as Speaker. Just an interesting thing to note.

    • Ron Paul should run as Speaker of the House. This would be good for the country and position him closer towards another run at the presidency in 2012.
