Good riddance I say, I don't want to stir any poo, but the 1911 is just that.... suited to 1911. (I'm not sure if it's namesake has to do with a year) I mean no ill will to their owners, I have owned a few, and they were all good shooters, but...... I like the platform, it has done well, but much like wooden shoes, and buggy travel, it has to go. Please do not take this wrong... These are excellent firearms... I just believe that the design is outdated and the tech behind them is rude. I know they work, I know they work well, But it's time to let go and let some tech shine. I know that firearm technology does not necessarily mirror modern technology, but would you rather our troops be armed with muskets? There is a time and a place for vintage firearms. PLASTIC IS FANTASTIC... waiting for the ban....

I know there is a lot or glass toes I'm stepping on here, but I hope there's some realistic ears that hear me as well.

eff youuu 1911, efff you right in the mouth. see previous post. Die already.
I hear you. I don't think what I am hearing is the same as what you are intending, though.

Eta: I don't own a 1911, have never owned one, don't know that I ever will, so I'm not defending the 1911. Just surprised at the animosity.
