There was an article on Fox news today and the EPA is taking up the topic of banning lead in ammunition. The argument goes that the EPA can't ban ammunition, but they can the chemicals and components that are used in the manufacture of ammunition.

I argue that if you ban the components you are essentially banning the product or making it too expensive to buy.

Does anyone else have any information on where they are at on this?

The story found birth because the tree huggers that petitioned the EPA the first time and were denied are at it again and have also filed suit against the EPA.

    Now wait a second...

    1. Doesnt the EPA protect the enviroment?
    2. Isnt Lead ammunition made of Lead?
    3. Isnt lead part of the periodic table of Elements? Pb Atomic number 85?

So. off those 3 points shouldnt the EPA be lauding gun owners for supporting the enviroment by recycling lead?

I think it's time to send the enviro-nuts to China to help them clean up their issues. I'm sure the Beijing government will give them the full benefit of the doubt and have a civil, tactful discussion.
