I have lived on a quick crete brand epoxy floor in my garage at my old house and loved it. It was a starter epoxy floor in a start home - it was fine for what I needed. Now, I would like a 10+ year floor. I'm moving into a newer home and want to have something put down. I understand there are newer compounds (not just epoxy anymore) that are stronger / better, etc...

Who should I call locally? Any INGOers have a hookup in this department? I made a few calls and mostly have just spoken to answering machines or VMs.

I just sent a text to a coworker of mine; his dad or father in law used to be in that business.

Will see what info I get back...who knows if it'll be tonight, though.

Good buddy of mine owns this company....

He does epoxy overlay, stamped concrete, all kinds of stuff.... top notch.

FYI I have done several of the DIY outdoor store kits, they are very easy.

I will get a name for you tomorrow (I can't remember the name of the Company). I've seen their commercial work, and I've heard their residential is just as amazing. I've also heard there is some sticker shock, but the floors I've seen will stand up to almost anything.

Desco floor systems did our warehouse. I've been pretty pleased with it so far. I know they also do some residential work as well. Google the name for their number.

any input on this space-aged "poly-whatever" compounds they now use that are stronger than regular old 2 part epoxy?

Also, I'm a total DIYer - anyone know of a place that would sell commercial sizes of epoxies, resins and / or space aged ****? I have the luxury of not having to move in right at closing, so I can get some work done prior to moving in.

Update: The guy / company I alluded to above only does commercial properties, not residential. Sorry.

My father in law ordered deck stain off the internet 5gals at a time and saved about $200 per buckets, and it was shipped free, I would check google before the outdoor stores. Contact one of the major businesses that do it, maybe they would sell you the product just for the profit :dunno:

I haven't been able to get the name of the company, but since you are a DIY'er try these:
I know this supplier has floor stain, but I'm not sure of the other products: Job Site Supply (across from Lucas Oil Stadium) 317-684-7474

Someone just did the floor at the office next door. I don't know who it was, but this is what they left behind:

:+1: on Jobsite Supply if you do it yourself. Ask for Pete or Buck, and they will point you to someone there who's specialty is concrete coatings.

Desco has always done a great job for me on several projects, and another to check out would be Engineered Flooring.

Hope this has been of some help.
