My rep Pete Viscloski has recently done one of the only things I have agreed with him on...

    He announced his retirement.

Why are we talking about feelings? I thought we were adults...and mostly men.

Don't like what your representatives are doing? Convince others of your opinions and either change their minds or try to get another candidate to replace them. That your representatives don't always agree with you does not make it less of a representative republic.

Many people are uncomfortable with freedom...

No, I don't personally feel like I am being represented. But that is a very different argument than to say that the people as a whole aren't.

Any reelection of an incumbent is an affirmation by the constituents of that person's record of representation. And we have very high rates of reelection.

Either that or we need to start pushing hard for a constitutional convention. If we actually believe that the people aren't being represented, then we need to adjust the system.

Yes. The system needs to be re-addressed. Especially the high rates of re-elections. Limits set.
It is a sad statement to make as we already have limits in place. It is the voting booth but the electorate seems to have lost touch with how this is actually supposed to work.

No we are being ignore at every turn. Is the Gov. asking his constituents how they feel about more of these (:lmfao:) refugees being shoved in among us.

All sounds wonderful in theory HM. I really does.
In reality it does not seem to work. And yes it is those who vote that have become set in concrete and immovable.
The argument could be made that in this we are being represented by the largest campaign contributor. Well here in Marion Co. anyway.

Franklin warned of a time when the electorate realized they could vote for free stuff.

The candidate that offers the most stuff wins.

Those of us that want freedom are outvoted.

I concur, so do you actually THINK you’re being represented?

    TOXIC MASCULINITY!!! :runaway:

(But really though, talking about feelings with friends and family is a healthy thing to do at times. It just might be less applicable in this discussion.)

I think that I have elected representation, but they represent a lot of other people besides me. That they do not always agree with me is exactly what I expect. I wish they did, but when there are, for instance, 535 people people in congress representing 320,000,000+ million people who don't all agree, that many of us will be disappointed is the obvious result.

I often talk about feeling with family...but I certainly try not to make decisions based upon them outside the house...on important things...other than food.

I just wish they would represent the constitution. Thats all they have to worry about representing. Its not really that hard. They over overcomplicate things to rip us off. There is really no place for emotions in lawmaking.

Also as it pertains to victims. The victim or their survivors whom have been victimized should be allowed to carry out the sentence. If you killed someone then their family should be allowed to kill you.
If you molested their child they ahould be allowed to chop off your parts before they kill you

They represent those who stuff the election war chest with silver and gold. Follow the money. Always follow the money.

Can a centralized state become too large to function as a republic or even a representative republic?

Men aren't any more rational, really. Rational people are rational. And even then not usually.

Sounds like immigrants and their Sharia Law aren't too different after all.

    ;)

But seriously, who's going to be tougher on crime - someone who's been constantly dealing with the violent results of it (i.e. someone from a ****hole country), or someone from a cushy, socialist "paradise" like Norway?

Same goes for govt programs - a Dane or Swede is constantly going to push for more entitlements than someone who's never seen them (i.e. someone that comes from a place where the govt is seriously corrupt).

The diff between isis and moderate isis is moderate isis wants isis to kill you. The way izlom is treated by the west is like as if we fought radical nazis to protect the moderate nazis in WW2, and let the mopderate nazis into our country and gave them homes, a car, and the fing right to vote. Nothing isis did or does is extraneous to the unholy kookran, everything isis did/does is strictly according to the letter of the unholy kookran. Simply put, you can't protect izlom from itself. I know this may be hard to understand for some, but a video explaining everything will be posted at the end so there's no ambiguity.
If you bring moderate isis into the USA don't be surprised when they take off the moderate garb and reveal the vest made with plastique, nor be surprised when those who let them in are considered traitors, you know, aiding and abetting and giving comfort to our enemies?

the above vid lasts less than 5 minutes, every American should see this and ponder the consequences of letting these people into our country

I have discovered that when I am PO'd and typing aggressively it is worse. The wife mentioned my typing style/skills earlier when I was editing posts.

I ALMOST NEVER type in the email window. Instead, I type in notepad, whether on the desktop or on my phone. Then I read it. Then I PROOF read it so I can make corrections and RETHINK what I really want/need to say.
Yes, it's labor intensive but allows for necessary corrections. It also allows time for me to cool down:xmad::(:D and decide IF I really want to 'say that' or even send it.
