This article proves to me that the GOP simply does not understand what the people of this nation need, want, and are beginning to demand.

GOP tries to take out tea party-backed candidate - Yahoo! News

The party is doing everything it can to protect 'insiders' and 'establishment' members and trying to distance itself from the new, fiscal conservative, firebrands that the people seem to be rallying behind in the elections.

Like most of government these people thrive in the pay to play enviornment. R or D money talks, the bigger it is the louder it talks.

There is only one political party: The incumbent party. Right now, they're on an "every man for himself" footing. But, there is also a power struggle for leadership positions going on.

To understand the Senate races, you only need to know two names:

    Mitch McConnell and Jim DeMint.

Who is Castle likely to support for Senate Majority Leader, and who will his opponent support?

Look at Indiana's senate race: Coats said his "good friend" McConnell asked him to consider running again. The two front runners before that were Wild-Card Hostettler and DeMint backed Stutzman.

McConnell needed to shore up some support in a traditional red state like Indiana - and Coats brought the Big Money Muscle with him to the race - almost guaranteeing a win for McConnell.

The radical polarization of our political part(y?)(ies?) is killing us. If no one is willing to compromise, we will never be able to move forward.

When it comes to stopping a violation of our constitution - there is no compromise. We stop them. We've let violations get way out of hand by dealing with compromise after compromise.

If no one is willing to compromise, we will never be able to move forward.

Sadly, that is possibly our best case short-term scenario right now.

If you don't like the direction the ship is heading and nobody is willing or able to change the heading, by all means...
at least try to halt the forward momentum.

I'd rather we not "move forward" anyway. I'd rather government stagnate and do nothing, than screw everything up for generations.

Both the parties responsible for the sad state of affairs we find our country in need to be kicked square in the voting box. Get rid of the tyrants that have Lorded over us. Vote some new blood into our decaying government. Seriously how much worse could a new party in power screw up compared to the damage done by the Republicans and Democrats?

Compromise? That's what got us into this mess over the last 100 years (give or take). The progressives take under the guise of giving, and the numbnuts give because, well they're just numbnuts plain and simple. What we need are a lot of politicians who will stand on principle all of the time. Not just when it is in their interest (either in give or take mode).

On the radicals being what they are, I agree.

    List of things to do:
    Roll back;
Any change in government since Jan. 2009
    Obamacare
    Bush's Healthcare mess
    LBJ's great society
    FDR's new Deal
Just about anything done by Wilson
and close a lot of Federal bureaucracies

I'll bet a few extra dollars are found then to pay off the national debt...

I've given contributions to 3 candidates so for this year- for the first time ever. I will not give to the RNC, but only directly to individuals that I believe will support fiscal discipline and constitutional principals. Bypass the old guard and support those you believe in. :twocents:

Interesting L's spend most of their time trying to convince R's that they aren't R's.... why not focus on pulling in D's and I's?
A libertarian Democrat is a wonderful thing -- rarer than hen's teeth, but still wonderful. But in my experience, they're far more numerous than libertarian "independents". Every self-identified "independent" I know personally is a fan of big government who just doesn't like the way the D's or R's are doing big government. Usually they're pining for some other country's way of doing things.

    Well.... let's see....

The Young Americans for Liberty chapter at IU in the Socialist Mecca of Bloomington is hosting Thomas Woods this month, and Congressman Ron Paul next month.

Sounds like the Ls are definitely reaching out to Dems via those two events in the most marxist of all of our cities.

The old-timers haven't been to supportive now that O'Donnell has the win.

She's raised nearly 750,000 dollars today alone. Maybe that will open their eyes. Nothing like good old fashioned moneyball politics to grab their attention.
