This is a parody of itself:

    https://pjmedia.com/faith/facebook-threatens-babylon-bee-cnn-satire-report-snopes-fact-checkers/

Christian satire site The Babylon Bee received a terse warning from Facebook this week after the "independent fact-checkers" at Snopes reported that one of the site's humor articles was "false."
    ...
The story in question pokes fun at CNN with the headline: "CNN Purchases Industrial-Sized Washing Machine To Spin News Before Publication." Anyone with even a sliver of a funny bone tucked away behind their appendix would know that it wasn't a serious news piece, but, alas, the humorless dolts at Snopes had to take spell out the obvious.

Facebook is giving the likes of Snopes and SLPC free reign to act as arbiters of truth and "fake news".

Snopes has also taken on The Onion:

    https://www.snopes.com/royal-caribbeans-sinks-carnival-cruise/

As with the Bee, satire isn't "False"; it is satire. Neither Babylon Bee nor The Onion purport their stories to be true; rather, they are obvious and intended satire. To say that a satire article is "False" is untrue.

What's worse, though, is for Facebook to use that "False" verdict, and then use it to issue an official warning to the satire site - while claiming to be sincerely and competently acting to safeguard Facebook users from "fake news" sites.

Maybe CNN really DOES have a spin cycle on their news-washing-machine? That would make in article true, and therefore not satire, so fake satirical news. Right? Maybe?

I think you discovered the key to fake-news inception.

The Onion does parody so well that it's hard to tell it from actual news.

Or actual news has gotten so crazy that it's hard to tell from parody.

So FB retracted the strike and I just learned a whole lot more about snopes.

Facebook 'fact checker' Snopes.com accused of defrauding website to pay for prostitutes | Daily Mail Online

(Spoiler: He not only paid for prostitutes, he married one after dumping the wife he started the site with)

From the link: "She has worked as an escort and porn actress and despite claims website is non-political ran as a Libertarian for Congress on a 'Dump Bush' platform"

Huh, a former porn actress running on a "dump BUSH" platform... whodathunkit? :):

    Umm, Babylon bee

Like Idiocracy, when art imitates life... This parody is probably the most biting I have seen in.... well, EVER.

I'd argue that really isnt parody, but instead laser focused biting truth-based commentary by proxy; look at what Youtube/Google is doing to conservatives and pro-gun sites. They are shutting down channels arbitrarily under the guise of penalties when no true violations occur. Ive seen multiple sites complaining about violations they received for no good reason, meaning the posted violation doesnt apply to the video they penalized. "video violates community standards for violence" um... its a guy showing a brand new pistol's performance while shooting paper targets. SMDH.
