I’ll give a vote to FDE.

I have my S&W M&P15 in FDE furniture.

However; the friction lock will be something else to disengage to change your stock length.

Not exactly. The friction lock is automatically disengaged when you depress the adjustment lever-- so only a single action to disengage.

You do, however, have to engage the friction lock once the stock is in your desired position.

Is the friction lock and QD sockets worth the extra $$? Yes, if you hate wobbly stocks and you run a 2-point sling off your stock.

Well I decided to be safe and go with black. Just ordered $900 worth of goodies for my AR, already saving up for a nice Red Dot scope.

Now that you have the black one out of the way you can move on to the next color. ;) I have Black & OD, next one for me will be something different again & not in 5.56. Who knows what or when.
