My wife asked me yesterday if I had any "feminine napkins" in my survival bag? You know, I have been thinking about items to put in our bags for a long time, I never thought of this one before.

I told her no, but that is a great idea. I will get them added.

What size do you need ? With or without "wings"? Light flow or super heavy absorbent SURF-BOARD sized?

Rescue Squads used to commonly carry them to be used in case of impalements. You can pack and wrap around the object; they soak up the blood and stabilize the foreign object.

I knew a Ranger medic who said he carried them to stop bleeding in bullet holes. This was before quick clot. I think these were the ones with the string though.

this brings up a good point, how many of you have a BOB set up specifically for the wife? i never really thought about it before, but she could certainly have one catered to her needs

I've read in several places too that tampons with vasoline or other petroleum jelly burns real well and for a long time.

As for the wings question, better have them and not need them than need them and not have them :D
