It's just the lighting. That is the first time I've taken one outside to take a picture and it does make quite a difference in the way the metal looks.

Damn those are sweet, you try anything with a slight spike on the other side of the head yet?

The metal I had wasn't wide enough to put a spike on them. Besides, after "consulting" with a few people about the design (mostly about fighting with them), I think these are better off without one.

I do have two longer ones cut out of 3/8 O-1 and they do both have spikes on them. They are a long way from completion, though.
