    1st: Welcome to INGO!
    2nd: Having lived in in Landstuhl and owned firearms in Germany, I can attest to the pain that firearms owners must endure. I got my sport shooting permit, but not a hunting permit....and the correct class of safe to store the weapons. And then there is the hassle of ATF forms that must must be approved before bringing them home to the US. Yes, an absolute pain in the ass...but doable. Would not want to do all of that again.
