My best wishes on the case; it's easy to ignore issues until you're the one up against the wall. I don't even understand why they took the guns from his home; either he was in custody for medical/mental care and had no access to them anyway, or he was released and no longer fell under the "dangerous" statute.

We all talk about "not wanting this guy next door" or "I'm not comfortable with this guy having a gun", but what happens when the person making the statement is BHO and we've all set the precedent of allowing this to happen? Laws are our society's way of saying what we will do and when. The whole point is to eliminate "gray areas" as much as possible, and make completely clear how we will evaluate something subjectively. It's a balance between potential risk to society from individuals infringing the rights of others and outright infringement of the rights of all. We've said, in law, that if someone is deemed not immediately dangerous, then we have no grounds to infringe on their rights. You want to take guns away from people that act weird but haven't made themselves into an immediate threat? Prepare to be lumped in there too someday.

Isn't this a brother-issue to LEO disarming citizens when there is no real indication that the person is a danger?

That's usually confiscation of money or goods that they "suspect" earned from drugs or other illegal activity.
in this case, this guy was doing nothing illegal. Just acting "suspicious".

If you have a sum of money it is presumed to be from illicit activities and confiscated. The burden of proof is then on you to reclaim it. Good luck with that.

Like the stripper recently found with one million dollars that she had saved up from years of lap dances. Sho got her money back!

Actually, it wasn't the stripper that was caught with the cash, it was her friend with whom she was going into the restaurant business. And while the judge ordered it returned to the would-be restauranteurs, the filthy bureaucrats who have possession of it have appealed that decision.

This is crap that this happens. Also far too many people forget that during Hurricane Katrina citizens guns were seized by police in New Orleans. It was not legal, but being legally right does not bring you back from the dead if you get shot by 8 cops when they tell you to hand your guns over. I am curious if you fight back against an unlawful order from police like that if you stand a prayer in hell in the legal system. That is a question you would have to ask if you know they are not within the law.
