Thanks for saving me from that. I HATE people that dont know the difference.
Wait, someone does that? And dont get me started on the abuse of the term "out of pocket". No, it means you lost money. It does NOT mean you are out of the office and unavailable.
OMG, one of my pet peeves!Cache is pronounced "cash."

Yes. I encounter salesmen that use it frequently.

QFT
It bugs me too.
The way they are saying "cache" sounds like "caché" (meaning hidden, and pronounced the same as "cachet").
That would be confusing if they were to say "My cache has some cachet".
So the next time English inherits some more hand-me-down words from the French, could you supply a pronunciation guide with them too?
You usually don't pronounce the last letter of a word unless there's an acute accent on it.
We have plenty of English words used in French that people don't pronounce properly either and that bugs me too (not that I pronounce all of them properly).
Like "sweatshirt", most people will say "sweetshirt".
I'm totally wearing a sweetshirt when it gets cold again!
I think this is the fastest I have seen a thread go off topic.
So anyone who produces content that is watching; what you say and how you say it can drastically impact your message. Doesnt matter how good the content, if you are ignorant in proper delivery it could get ignored.
Here's a sweetshirt for you...
