    Looking for any info anyone can supply to my FN Hi Power. Has it been refinished and what exact model is it? Also what year and approximate value. No box.

    The prefix 245 = 9mm
    p= 8
    V= 5

    the rest is the actual serial number.

    This should be a MKII with a forged frame. AIM had surplus of these guns for sale in 2015/16 for $429 each.
    One way to tell for sure if it’s a MKII is to look at the slide from underneath. If there’s a firing pin block in the slide MKIII and cast frame. No block, MKII and forged frame.
    As far as price.... no clue. It’s a standard production HP, so it’s not gonna bring a crap ton like the goofy ones, but it’ll bring at least a decent car payment

    I came here to post exactly that. But, with the HiPower being discontinued a couple of years ago, they are getting more costly as time goes on.

    Did these come parkerized or polish blued. All I can find on the Blue Book of Gun Values app says they were a polished blue finish. And thanks for the info so far.

    As a general rule yes, but with the HP's there are no hard and fast rules, there were late MKII's with FPS's as well as some MKIII's ordered without FPS's.

    Also would this be a surplus gun? And should there be import stamps from the importer? And I assume since there’s no stamp “assembled in Portugal” like I’ve seen in many surplus ones this was made and assemble in Belgium. Sorry for all the questions but I’m new to the hi power.

    Some importers try to be discrete and had put them on the barrels.

    Don't know if you're looking for the info to be useful during a sale or just info for info-sake...

    Historically, it seems just like what has been provided above. A run of the mill average 1985 P35 that seems to have had a decent refinish on it.

    Now, for YOUR purposes of the gun - that platform is absolutely RIPE to dress up on the cheap with a round hammer and cocobolo wood grips. Spend more $ and you can have it re-refinished in an amazing stainless / black 2-tone look and have more functional sights installed.
