    He may be very mistaken. The NRA has one of the programs to cover you in the case of a self-defense shooting (NRA Carry Guard), but that is separate from NRA memberships. Simply being an NRA member does not provide the type of coverage being discussed in this thread.

    The only insurance you get free from the NRA is some low-dollar firearms insurance (theft/loss) that you still have to sign up for.

    Who carries NRA underwriting now? I finally got confirmation that LocktonRiisk, the broker, has dropped them, along with Chubb, the underwriter doing so as well.

    Last I had heard, they are still working to find someone... Once they failed to buy out other established businesses (in a strong arm fashion), seems most of the industry has stopped doing business with certain segments of the NRA.
