Barack Obama declares France biggest ally in blow to Special Relationship with Britain | Mail Online
Barack Obama has declared that France is America’s greatest ally, undermining Britain’s Special Relationship with the U.S.

The President risked offending British troops in Afghanistan by saying that French president Nicolas Sarkozy is a ‘stronger friend’ than David Cameron.

The remarks, during a White House appearance with Mr Sarkozy, will reinforce the widely-held view in British diplomatic circles that Mr Obama has less interest in the Special Relationship than any other recent American leader.

Have you been keeping up with all the crazy laws the British have been passing over the past few years? It's pretty scary. We should distance ourselves from them lest we follow their course. However, I don't exactly fancy the French either.

And that whole special relationship quip was Churchill's doing, as the UK lost it's status as a superpower, and the US emerged as one.

This sounds more like it comes from leadership's catty wives fussing over what clothes they wear.

Of course BO think the French are our biggest ally. Does this really surprise anyone? He's just trying to get access to all their extra white flags. He wants a country that has capitulated to a radicalized immigrant population. He only cares about rioting and crime when its perpetrated by "conservative" citizens....everyone else, he could care less.

I think today, France is as good an ally as we have, but I don't think it is smart to elevate them at the expense of the UK, or anyone else. Obama made a big mistake handling our relationships this way.

I like a good French white flag joke as much as anyone, but they've still got a force in Afghanistan when others have been backing out or flat out refusing to help directly.

We've got the best relationship with France that we've had for years, and it has much less to do with Obama, and much more to do with Sarkozy and the French people (Mainly outside Paris) getting tired of liberal/Socialist policies.

By the way....I once saw a classified ad for a French World War II rifle. The description said, "Never fired and only dropped once!" :-)
