Going through my junk drawer I found a bag full of ferrocerium rod blanks.
I bought these a couple years ago and have more than I will ever use.

Ive decided to give away 10 of these Ferro rods to the First 5 people that request them (two per person).

These are approx. 2 1/2" long by 1/4" dia.
In my opinion they work just as well as the "firesteel" brand firestarters.

As the title says, no strings attached; just let me know you want them and where you want them mailed and I'll take care of the rest!

I am well after the people getting them so I wont look like a suck up. Just wanted to say another reason I love INGO, very cool of Sdixon to do this.

Got them in the mail today, thanks!

Great! I was a day late getting them out as I had a couple more folks request them and I needed to get some extra envelopes.
I'd imagine everyone should have them by Friday.

I keep one attached to the sheaths of each of my field knives with a ranger band.
I figure a knife and a firesteel is probably about as minimalist of a survival kit as you can get.

I'd be curious to see how the ones I sent out end up being used.

Mine will be going into a hole I'm drilling into my hiking staffs (ones I made) and then wrapped over with paracord.

Mine showed up today as well. Thanks a bunch OP. :yesway:

Going to try and incorporate these in some type of 'paracordage' to carry them.

I like Shibumiseeker's walking 'staff' idea too :)
