The stars at night, are big and bright, deep in the heart of Texas.....Just saying that it's been quite a while...

We are waiting on the lights before we try use to the bays again. The last squad is at a severe disadvantage. Awful hard to shoot in the dark, let alone 2 Texas stars and a plate rack.I really liked that stage, but I want to wait until we get lights put up.

Any other ideas? Anyone like or dislike anything lately?

I was a fan of the stage with the barrier to shoot around last time.....nice variable to have a different shooting stance and have a couple options of right/left/center. Even tho i haven't mastered a normal stance:n00b:

Anyone got a favorite stage they would like to see this Friday?

3 IPSC targets spaced like El-Prez, 2 shots each.

    String 1) Freestyle
    String 2) SHO
    String 3) WHO

Or kind of a modified El-Prez:
1 shot each- mandatory reload- one shot each. (I know we never have mandatory reloads in FNS, but I think it would be fun.)

    I'll put something together...

I'll have to ask the MD about mandatory reloads. I know its been done before, but as an entry level match some do not like it.

I guess since these are the longest days of the year we would still have light. Could you just do 2 strings instead of 3 on the star to save time? IN other words don't use the plate rack, just do 2 strings with the star.

It wouldn't matter how many strings are on one stage. The last squad still has to shoot 4 stages before they get to that stage.

The competitor count has been low all year, and FNS has been done early lately. I fear the one time we try to use the bay, we would have 80 competitors. We barely finish on time with that many competitors. It was a nightmare last time we used the bays without lights.

I'm w/ CB45 about the lighting conditions... The star is a great deal of fun, but that Stage is a risk if good light isn't available for everyone.

I'm not sure everyone would have enough mags to do a mandated change without being allowed to pick them up. What if one or two drop in front of the firing line?

What about Stage 3 with mandated right / middle / left all "weak" hand?

    :evilangel:

And, yes... I'm planning on being there, too...

Stages are done. Hopefully I have something for everyone.

I just thought about something. Those stars are designed for center fire ammo. They don't work well with .22lr ammo.

The guys shooting .22 aren't saving money anymore, so why not shoot a real gun? Heck, even a 9mm would work.
