Ft Wayne Visit This Saturday

I find it necessary to travel to Ft Wayne this weekend. What's good to eat up there? I'm talking in the realm of burgers, bbq, etc. You know, real food, none of that foo foo stuff and no chains, we got 'em around here!

For beer, hit Munchies. I enjoy a meal on at the Deck downtown. Dash In for a slice and pint if you fancy pizza.

Everything else here is pretty much a chain these days. Generally cookout just happen at my house for ribs and steaks.

Never been there but I have heard great things about Ziffles.

Also if you are bored and there is a baseball game going on, its cheap, the food is actually pretty good too.

If you like bbq, try Moosewood. It's located on St. Joe and St. Joe Center Rd. It's at the north end of Canterbury. Excellent BBQ!!!

I go to Fort Wayne at least once a week, I pickup Coney Island about once a month...

Their coney dogs are the best.

Don Chavas on the Wells st corrider is excellent as well if you fancy Mexican at a reasonable price .My favorite place to eat is Bourbon st.Hideaway (cajun dining) under Columbia st West but they only open at 4:00pm

+1 to all who suggested Ziffels. We both ordered the pull pork sammiches and they were yummy. Hope to be in the area again someday. Our only suggestion is to order extra sauce, they serve bbq a little differently than we are used to so wasn't quite enough sauce for us.

My wife took me there after I moved to FW, much like St Elmos in Indy I will never get why they have the reputation they do. Both imo are mediocre at best.
