Also, probably a pocket knife folded up in their pants their father or older brother gave him.
I can remember my older brother and I taking a couple of hatchets outside on the property and practicing how to throw them at a tree till they'd stick.
Nobody said a word: normal behavior.
Today, a neighbor would call the police, or parents would stop such behavior before we hurt ourselves.
You forgot matches and maybe a frog in the pocket.
    :):

Talking about useless neighbor intervention, I got called out for doing some trimming with a machete. "That's dangerous!"

Machetes are handy and where I grew up they were an essential gardening tool.
The guy was being a D*** and so I was too. I said, "Yes I have a trimmer and a lawn mower, like you suggest. I use them when I need, but can you defend your family with your trimmer and mower?" (MF!?!)

He got this disturbed expression and rushed away from me.
    :lmfao:

    EDIT:
Oh, and I would bet that he does not even own one gun.

I lived on a corner lot in a bedroom community on the east coast.

In the side yard there was a 2' oak with a 1.5' X 2' hole in the bark from axe throwing. It was 10' from a busy street.
