Yes. Yes. I'm hopeful we'll get a better handle on the ownership and operaton of automobiles. There have been far too many wrecks within the city this year. Clearly we need to limit access to these ground bound missiles.

Easier to blame inanimate objects than address the more complex problems of cultures that create criminals. Of course, that would be politically unpopular...

I have never been impressed by Rusty York. He should listen to what Darrell Scott said after Columbine.

I remember several years ago standing next to a NO WEAPONS sign at the scene of a triple homicide in a counseling center in Fort Wayne....

I've never really been impressed with him either...he simply repeats what he hears others say...and that's not true leadership!

Yes it is more popular to blame an in-aimate object rather than hold humans responsible for their choices + actions + results => appropriate consequences of those choices!

Yep, no one likes it when people talk about the bad things within American culture. We always look to point out issues of those that aren't part of our group.

Literally every time I've visited Fort Wayne in the last few months I've seen at least one car accident.

Hopefully the number of licensed carriers keeps rising and this recent violent crime goes down.
I wonder what the overall homicide rate for Fort Wayne is now compared to the past. It's likely downtrending. An isolated spike doesn't require a blanket "solution". (also known as a knee-jerk reaction)

The Fort Wayne politicians were told over 10 years ago that FW was ripe for gang development, by Federal agencies in the area (I have this first hand from a member of one of those). At that point they were just neighborhood "associations" of punks. All it took was a little bit of outside organization and now look what we have. Failure by Mr. York, who received a promotion and more $$ and still his and the Mayor's attacks on the legal gun owners. For those of you not from FW, the police department moved their HQ from Creighton Ave to down town. Their previous HQ parking lot connected to one of the highest crime areas, Eden Green apartments. Long history of political ignorance from Fort Wayne, Paul Helmke, Rusty York and Tom Henry. rep Giaquinta from FW was the one who stood up on the floor of the Indiana legislature when the carry law in school zones was being debated and said it was OK to have your gun there as long as you did not get caught.......

It's rare to have a homicide NOT gang related here these days. But of course, Rusty's solution is to punish the good.
