Now, it's official. The rumours were true and it looks like Gary Johnson will be seeking the Libertarian Party nomination to run as their candidate for president. He's got a few hurdles to get over first, tho. Not all libertarians are fans of the so-called "Fair Tax". Many are justifiably against it. He's also got to get past the carpet bagger thing. The LP was burned last time around, by running a gop deserter and libertarians have long memories. That said, Gary is head and shoulders above Bob Barr and has a lot of pluses in his column. I think he'd make a good candidate, if he realises that he has a job outside of running for office. He's also there to promote the party and libertarianism till the next go 'round. This is something Barr could never wrap his pea brain around. Hopefully Gary will have a better grasp. He'd certainly make a pretty good candidate and I wouldn't cringe to cast a ballot for him. Now all he has to do is make it past the nominating process.
