I have recently gotten the urge to buy a new handgun and I think I have decided on a Gen4 G19. I was curious if anyone has had a chance to handle, or shoot one, and what your opinions are.

I just fondled one at Ranger Supply in Fort Wayne today. My main carry gun is the Gen 3 G19. The Gen 4 feels even better to my hand. The stippling gives a very firm, seated feel in the hand. I had SOME money to spend but I chose to update my AR rather than upgrade to the Gen4. As soon as I do I plan to give my Gen 3 to my 14 year old son. He loves it too! Highly recommend the Gen 3 or 4.

    We have a gen4 19 and 17.

The G19 is nice we have around 300 rds fired and the only issues have been with the shooter. The first 5 rounds ever fired stovepipe and ftf every round. The stovepipes and ftf's were due to limp wristing. I showed my Fiancee a different grip/hold and zero problems after that.

The only thing I dont like is the grip lenght, it is just a tad short and I don't like how it feels in my hand compared to the 17.

I have a Gen3 17 and like it OK, and have held a Gen3 19 and absolutely loved the feel, I just hope the Gen4 feels better/more ergonomic than the Gen3

Shot my buddies 19 a few weeks ago. Never shot a Glock before. Very accurate, easy to shoot, easy to acquire target. Very nice! May trade the HK for one!

I have a gen3 G19, my favorite carry handgun by far... IMO of course.

Best advice you can get on INGO is right here.... wait for it.... wait for it....

Shoot the gun before you decide to buy it.

    Good day.

The gen4 G19 is still a bit iffy in my opinion...i've heard good and bad about the new recoil spring. I highly highly recommend glock as a gen3 G19 owner/avid shooter for over 5 years now. Mine has never failed me. I love the glock because you have options (trigger job, new sights/laser sights, cheap extra mags, etc.). Go with a glock for sure.

I owned one and for the first 250 rounds had many issues with it, after about 500rds I decided to call Glock. After contacting Glock and getting a replacement spring and again shooting about 250 rounds it began to run great, although my personal confidence in the Gen4's was shaken and reverted back to a Gen3 model 19. The Gen4's to me have a bit of a break in period and that would be repeated if you ever replaced the recoil spring in my experience, so I'll stick with the Gen3's that just work out of the box for me..
