"All animals are created equal, but some animals are more equal than others."
    -from Animal Farm

"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

Who would have known that Big Brother would turn out to be not one person, but a collective of little authoritarian cry-bullies harnessing political correctness, safe spaces, trigger warnings, speech codes, and every other lunatic fringe contrivance imagined to impose their will?

The writings of George Orwell, Upton Sinclair and Edward Abby, all had a strong influence upon me as a young man. Made me very cautious and cynical when listening to the pompous promises of our political overlords. Hence the signature at the bottom of my post.

Yes, Orwell was a visionary, but I would also add Alduous Huxley to the list of those who foresaw the storm clouds that await us all.
Anyone who has read "Brave New World" will know exactly what I'm talking about...and shudder.

There were debates on which one was more likely to happen.
Turns out, it was kinda a cross between the two.
