Has anyone used any of these personally? Particularly the Gibbz / New Frontier Armory ones as they're 1/4 the price of the JP and make more sense than it if going for the benefits of side charging.

I want to use one in my otherwise ultralight 308 "dream gun" build.

My only concern is that there is no dust cover/door port cover.

The JP has it but it also still retains a regular charging handle and is heavier, as well as over $1100 compared to the $300ish range of the others.

Anyone use one of these on a build? Have you had any issues? How do you deal with the extraction port always being open when you're out in the woods and other settings where you might be setting your rifle down? Anything ever gotten inside and cause any issues?

Had a JP, but sold it. JP doesn't drill and pin so I replaced it.

I only had it on the range but why is the "extraction port" open?

I grew up with a G3/HK91 so I did not mind the a side charger.

Even Faxons side charging upper which isn't the same as these two has an open port.

Bear Creeks system is even worse as it's a handle bolted onto the BCG. Always open and reciprocating too

I was eyeballing the Gibbs. Couldn't justify the cost. For what it's worth, I had a BCA side charger. Worked great for me being a right handed shooter. Bolt knob has to have loctite I found out. Would buy again. IMG_45801.jpg
