It's not necessary to prove or disprove global warming in order to know that our environment should be treated with respect or else sooner or later, humans will suffer for it.

I totally agree. As soon as we find a cleaner energy source, we should ditch carbon ASAP, being abundantly cautious. However, ditching carbon before a suitable replacement is immoral IMO, since it would be the equivalent of murdering millions, plus our enemies won't play along, so we'd just be destroying ourselves militarily. Liberals don't seem to grasp this, they think people are just dumb for not starving themselves or freezing to death (meanwhile they fly planes and--as always--fail to lead by example.

The only suitable technology in existence to replace coal is nuclear. Is anyone proposing we go "all nuclear"? Right now it seems we're doing the best we can, and I think in 10 years we will be ready for real change, but you can't just give a nice speech and change the world, it takes real progress in science, not just pure skepticism.

I would also point out that the Global Warming zealots are apparently ignorant of history, particularly the warming trend peaking in the 1300s revolving into a cooling trend bottoming out in the 1800s. We have not yet reached levels of warming which happened some 600-700 years ago. I fail to see the need for panic. This is not to say that I am in favor of trashing the place, but I have little use for the politics of control through fear.

I've seen weather pros (Cantore included) talk about how we don't need to look more than 30 years into the past to understand we're going through a climate change. Makes me think I went to school for the wrong major. There have been bigger storms and storms in about the same area a couple years in a row...but if we only look into the past 30 years, things look fairly rosy.

I'm predicting in 6-8 months, the climate around here will average 30-40 degrees warmer than it is today. I wonder how high The White River will be by then
