I agree with most. Anything should feed and shoot in a stock G19. My 4 go to carry ammo types are in no particular order. Underwood defender, Speer gold dots, Federal Premium HST, Hornady critical duty. Always run a mag of your carry ammo before holstering up for carry and confirm Point of aim/ Point of impact.
From what I’ve read steel/aluminum isn’t that bad, and the savings in ammo are worth it. Although the casing debate seems as almost as convoluted as the caliber debate lol.
I'm going to mostly agree, but I once bought a case of the worst crap ammo ever, called Yavex. I had some rounds that would sound like a cap from a cap gun, and literally leave a chunk of bullet in the barrel (like it would roll out if you pointed the gun down).
Most training rounds are fine: Ten Ring, Blazer Brass, etc.
Shot 1000s of reloads through a Gen 5 with no problems. Mostly Berry's 115 grain plated. Cycled properly using minimum load too. Need to try 124 grain to see if accuracy improves.
I like Hirtenberger 100gr +P+ PSP @1,750fps but is hard to find. It will not skip off of windshields. Tends to shred headrests from the 30° to 45° when shot from behind too but I am old and biased.
The old Ranger in +P+ is good as a backup.
Newer stuff I like Hornady Critical Duty.
