I own both a 92FS and a G19. The 92 was my first gun I ever bought and even carried it on way down to the last 1500. Didn't remember it being that heavy! It is great fun to shoot.
Having said that, my G19 carries the same amount of rounds in a smaller, lighter package. I handle the recoil on the Glock better because I can get more of my hand around it (yes, the rumor is true: I do have girlie hands :crying:)

Really? And are the JCS aware of that?

    kidding right?

    USSOCOM is it's own entity.

    About USSOCOM

News to me. Kind of like the Waffen SS being separate from the Wehrmacht, huh?

The way USSOCOM operates, and with the relatively few troops (compared to the rest of the military) there are times when the weapons they want to use need to be relatively "sterile" or are to fill a special need. USSOCOM gets more latitude to use specialty weapons than other Commands and yes, the JCS knows about it.

I first shot a Beretta92 about 13 years before I ever picked up a Glock, but the Glock was the first pistol I ever received extensive training with, and I carried a Glock for some years before my Guard unit turned in their Colt, S&W, & Ruger revolvers for M9s. I much prefer the Glock, not only due to familiarity (I also own a Beretta Cougar) but because I don't have to manipulate a safety and pull through that DA trigger to get the first round off.

As a military type who was issued a sidearm as a primary weapon, the military doesn't do enough training with their sidearms to make them proficient. If a potential purchaser is trained or intends to train with a double-action or single-action pistol with a safety, then perhaps the extra weight of the Beretta may make sense. For me, I would rather rely on trigger control and weapon retention than have to retrain myself to manipulate a safety.

Have someone point a glock or beretta at these ney say'ers of either weapon. See which one they are afraid of most. Point being, they are both good guns. Amateurs argue kind and claibur, pros argue shot placement.

No - I honestly didn't know. Guess I'm just not in with the "in crowd".

Roger that, I had no clue as I've been out of the Army since '96 and had been working in the corporate world ever since until a job change brought me to my current position.

    Love my job :D
