Here's my observation after a few fighting pistol type courses.

I've not seen a Sig "Fail" with a type I, II, or III malfunction that wasn't introduced by intentionally installing dummy rounds in the magazines.
(Although TomN didn't bring his P220's to class today either.) :stickpoke:

I've not seen a Glock "Fail" with a type I, II, or III malfunction that wasn't introduced by intentionally installing dummy rounds in the magazines.

I have seen Kahr pistols, Kel Tec pistols, and at least one 1911 pistol (unknown origin) fail with several of the above.

This leads me to believe it's pretty hard to go wrong with a Glock or a Sig

I shoot all kinds of guns.

    I shoot 1911s when I want to practice tap/rack/bang.

I shoot Sigs when I feel like having a different trigger pull every time.

I shoot H&Ks when I feel like having the slide lock back at random.

    I carry a Glock!

I dont know, but SIGs dont have a different trigger pull everytime... :alcoholic:

    DA/SAs do.

12 pounds on the first pull (or whenever in double-action), about 4 pounds on the following pulls (or whenever in single-action). At least that's how it is for my P226.

not everytime ;) it has 2 different pulls. the double action or the single action. not a new pull everytime.

I own both. And both have their pro's and con's. I honestly like the sig pull in a DA/SA. And the SRT of my elites is top notch. But if your a DAO type of person sig does have the DAK.

I carry a Glock 19, and at the moment the Glock is the top pistol on my list of carry weapons.

Other guns I have owned and fired?

    1911's (Wilson, Kimber, Springfield)
    SIGs (P220, P225, P226, P228, P229)
    S&W Autos (M&P 40, M&P 45, 4006, 1006, 4516)
    Browning Hi-Power
    CZ (P-01, 75B, 97)
    HK (P2000, USPf 40, USPc40, USPf45, USPc45, P30, HK45, P7M8, P7M13)
    Walther P99
    XD 40, XD 45.
    Beretta 92FS
    Glock (17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 30)

And I keep coming back to Glock. I guess I've drank the Koolaid!

Goodgod! You people are still arguing about this?!

While you're all at it, someone should start one of those dandy .45 vs .40 vs 9mm threads. That should keep everyone at the keyboard instead of the range for weeks!

I've been shooting my Sig 220 a lot lately. Took the G22 with me today. Damn that trigger sucks. Does anyone work on glock triggers.

I hear you about the Hammer. I prefer hammers too. Guess it makes me think I have more control (false?) over the action. I also prefer decockers to safeties.

I started one of those, and it didn't go over that well. Everyone was like, they all work fine, it's all about shot placement, and then proceeded to hold hands and sing koom-by-ya!!

Haha, I was just poking fun at the various guns in my above post. I know that EVERY pull isn't different. Silly Sig owners!

    Glock Vs Sig.......

Need Help: Lorcin L9mm - TheFiringLine Forums
I'm looking for a 9mm to put in collection, and have narrowed it down to two weapons of equal quality: the Lorcin L9mm and the Glock 19.

I can get the Lorcin for a lot cheaper than the Glock, and I know that I'd just be paying for the name of by buying the Glock, but maybe its worth it for the "Prestige Factor".

    Any thoughts?

If Glock and Lorcin are equal quality, Sig HAS to be better.:lmfao::lmfao::lmfao:

Wow everyone is being so nice about this......COME ON.....
The threat is 15 feet away from you and your family....no time to think...only act...draw...fire...scan...secure scene...reholster...comfort family!!
Which weapon allows you to do that best!!
I know that with proper training and practice this can be accomplished with both. But focus on the weapon side of the issue.
I know I would want the Glock as a first choice!!
    1st reason
    KISS
    2nd reason
    Trigger pull -
Glock - even 5.5 pounds every time, plus very short reset
    3rd Reason
    no decocker
KISS - finger off trigger, put it away

    what is this KISS?
