Of all the news articles I've read on it today. They make it sound like he got no laughs, no applause, etc. Said he was drunk and wearing sunglasses. From what I saw, he was himself and it sounded like the people in attendance rolled with it. Tom Hanks was the biggest look at the end...but overall, I think it was well received and well delivered.

Even money the ratings being in the tank for these events prompted the powers in charge to have him do this. Stop wasting air time and making people shut off the TV.

Yeah, I too thought it an attempt at getting viewers/ making advertisers happy by going after the red zone folks.
