Good deal on savage axis .270

Not a huge fan of the axis line, its not a good representation of the quality of their better rifles, but I guess that's why it's their budget line. Still a good deal if you don't mind rebates.

Yep. I hemmed and hawed and completely caved and bought one.

I'll take the inexpensive scope off and put it on my bolt action 22, and put my nice one in it's place.

Im not a Axis fan, or a 270 fan. For 200 bucks I about bought one.

I did a little research on the 270 round a couple years ago. I think it's actually a pretty capable round. Not my first choice, but better than most ppl would expect.

Its beyond pretty capable. Would be a damn good round for deer season next year.

I broke down and bought one. I've been wanting a .270 to play around with and couldn't pass up the price. Plus there are plenty of upgrades available for this if I want to.
