I'm looking to get a GSG22 ready to use a suppressor, but I don't want to wait a year and a half to SBR it. What i'd like to do is cut the barrel down, thread it, and then weld a pipe onto the barrel that the suppressor will slide into, to make the barrel legal length. Does anyone know of a gunsmith that would do this, and what they might charge?

Cant help you with finding a gunsmith, but I can give you some advise on your plan to do the rest....

    Dont.

I went down that road, and it was nothing but problems. The barrel was problematic to weld to, find a can long enough to be able to go past the end of the pipe was iffy, it makes it impossible to fully break down .... all in all, not worth it. Just fill out the paperwork and wait. Its worth it in the end to have done it right.
