I got a letter from the NFA in a big manila envelope last night.
    The letter said:
"Improperly taken fingerprints. Carefully follow instruction on the back of FD-258 fingerprint card"
    Great...
Now, you have to understand, the woman in Lawrence County is VERY particular about fingerprints and she is very good. She has been there for a long time. So, I was surprised that my fingerprint card got kicked back.
I checked it and sure enough the fingerprints on it were terrible. They were smudgy and had black blotches and double strikes.
Then I noticed, TOLEDO POLICE DEPARTMENT.
I saw that first because it was printed in caps so, then I looked at the name.
It was not my fingerprint card.
They had mailed me some other guys fingerprint card!

I called 4 times this morning before I got an answer.
I just got off the phone with them.
I told the receptionist I had a letter that I had a problem with and she asked me what number was in the box in the upper right of the letter.
I told her and she transferred me directly to the person doing the review.
I told the reviewer that she had mailed me someone elses fingerprint card and she seemed a bit disturbed at that (shocking).
She asked me to mail the card back to her and I said "What about my application?"
She said it was also flagged as improper fingerprints.
I told her I found that hard to believe because of how good the woman is here that does the fingerprints.
So she put me on hold and pulled out my file.
Sure enough, my fingerprint cards were fine and had already passed inspection.
She said she would forward it for final review today and it would be less than 30 days until I got my stamp.
    :rockwoot:

    Long story short...
Good News: Less than 30 days til my suppressor is in my grubby mitts.
Bad News: Where am I going to find subsonic ammo in less than 30 days? Lots of it. :)

Thats pretty bad when they mail them to the wrong person. haha! Somebody needs to pay more attention to their job.
Wow, those had to be some bad fingerprint cards. I've turned in a few that were pretty sloppy and they still accepted them.

Congrats on the can. Which can did you get? What kind of ammo are you looking for?

I got an ISIS-2 from Cory at SSNFA.

I am looking for 147 grain 9mm ammo.
Most of the 147 is subsonic unless it's +P.
Preferably hollow points but fmj will do in a pinch.

My NFA check was cashed on 9/25/2012.

If you get desperate and cant find any at all by the time it comes in, hit me up. I can sell you a box at a reasonable price. I have about 2000 rounds of 147grain FMJ subs. I cant leave a fellow NFA'er hanging with his brand new Can.

Thanks for reminding me, I have a Guardian 9, and a Viper 9 can in process. Nice to hear they are still working away, mine should be done by September, at least I have a few toys to play with until the bigger cans come in.

You might want to make a copy of that guy's print card and whatever else they sent you. Keep it together with the original manila envelope.
Remember to certify it back, or it didn't happen.

You may need it in case it ever comes up again. :tinfoil:
