Doubles trap with a puimp. Yes - significant handicap to the shooter. Potential for gun malfunction, extra gun movement, only one choke for both targets, etc.
Skeet - Station One 1 high house 1 low house 1 simultaneous pair. Station Two 1 high house 1 low house. 1 simultaneous pair. Station Three 1 high house 1 low house Station Four 1 high house 1 low house Station Five 1 high house 1 low house Station Six 1 high house 1 low house. 1 simultaneous pair. Station Seven 1 high 1 low house 1 simultaneous Station Eight 1 high house 1 low house (if you haven't missed any targets at this point ) repeat Station 8 low house = 25 target standard round.

    Next question

The first target that is missed, regardless of where on the field ( except for station low 8) is repeated as an "option."

    1. Can you shoot doubles with pump? Is it not allowed, or just hard to do?
    2. Does a regular round of skeet consist of any doubles, or just 2 single targets at eight stations?

    1. Yes you can, yes it's allowed, yes it's hard to do
    2. Yes station 1, 2, 6, and 7 shoot singles then doubles

Those games are what put a semi auto in my gun rack. You may or may not be able to shuck the pump fast enough to pick up the second bird.....Same as above just a little more smoke.

I know a number of people that shoot skeet with a pump gun, but it takes practice and persistance. Pump guns are fun, but over/unders or auto loaders make learning the sport much easier.

Amboy and others have it right.

I do it every once and a while just for fun. You are VERY busy for a few seconds, but when you nail your pair, it is GREAT! Even if your total score for the round is not that good, the challenge is worth it.
