    Ugh, what else is new?

I gotta ask...will trans be considered mental illness and enough to deny purchase / confiscation of weapons?
It should be considered a mental illness.
I don't believe anyone should be denied their right to keep and bear arms though unless they've made credible threats which breaks the law.
If someone commits a crime using a gun, lock them up forever. I don't care

Laws written in the aftermath of tragedy are neither well thought out, nor are they effective.

This line from the article sums the issue up very well.

On April 2, 2023, this author pointed out a red flag law would not have stopped the Nashville shooting from taking place because neither police nor the family of the 28-year-old transgender shooter were aware of the planned violence against the Christian school.

    Yes.

One question never asked/answered during these sessions:

Would the law I am debating have PREVENTED this triggering tragedy? If no, Stop, and back away from the bill. Its no good.

    But…but…but…JUST DO SOMETHING!!!!
NFA of 1934 is an example of this. Bonnie and Clyde ran into Frank Hamer's posse a month or two before passage. Within a few more months the Prohibition-era gangsters that NFA 1934 allegedly targeted had all assumed room temperature.

Just like today, a tax stamp only affects the law-abiding.

If someone said "I'm going to run over kids and a crossing guard". No one would take their car. These red gun laws regardless as to how they are used when where and who are ****ing retarded.

And nobody calls for common sense car laws when drag racers kill or drink drivers crash.

    “Nobody need 500hp”
