I found this link on another forum that gathered over 80 incidents from the media where a person defended themselves from attack with a firearm. It only has information that was reported, but the results are pretty amazing.
No incidents of the gun being taken away.
Very few reloads reported (though the media doesn't usually give that kind of detail outside of mass shootings).
I believe only one death of the victim.
Lots of older people smoking bad guys.
