The Great Pyrenees is a large, elegant dog with a regal expression. Males are 27-32 inches tall at the withers and weigh about 100 pounds; females are somewhat smaller and lighter. This big, happy dog was developed in the Pyrenean Mountains between France and Spain to guard the flocks and protect the homes of the shepherd and his family. Here the big dog fearlessly faced wolves and bears and alerted his family to bandits. The Pyr needs a fenced yard with a visible barrier to remind him to stay home. Without that barrier, he will consider the world to be his territory and think he has to guard it all. Because they were bred to work independently and make decisions on their own, Pyrs may not be the star of the local obedience class. The breed should be exercised daily on leash or in a fenced area. New owners should be prepared for barking, especially at night, and brushing approximately once per week.

These puppies are not registered and do not have papers. Both parents (pictured below) are working animals not show animals. Molly works with horses and Duke works with goats. While primarily outdoor dogs with strong guardian instincts, both parents are also crate trained and house broken. Both parents have excellent hips and no health problems.

[strike]11[/strike] 5 puppies are available . The puppies were born on Aug 6 and should be ready to head to their new homes around the last half of September. $50 deposit to reserve your pick.

Trades are possible. ruger 10/22, .357/.44 +3" revolver or 1911 (especially something in need of refinishing), others considered.
