Donnelly is a true democrat in the modern sense. Always willing to blow the way that the emotional winds are blowing. He has no actual opinion or stance on anything, it is whatever he thinks will get him more votes for the next election.

    Right over there!
This was just to move it to the floor for debate. this didn't actually pass the bill. the filibuster if it were to happen would happen during the debate of the bill.

Is anyone else concerned about voting against gun control this time having the reverse effect of 94 and those voting against it losing seats in next elections?

No, Liberals have short memories and move from one "Cause of the Day" to another, gun owners not so much, The Dems will keep the urban areas but those from rural areas need to worry. Republicans never stand a chance in the "entitlement" zones but can only gain seats from rural democrats.

Or I might be mistaken on this since they are requiring 60 votes (to block a filibuster) to bring it forward.
