Finally a gun law that is enforced:in Indystar Tues. Jan11th, a man who wa convicted as a Felon in 1993 was stop for a traffic viaolation, where a pistol was found in his car. U.S. Disstric judge sentenced him to 15 yrs in federal prison:). You may not like U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett But at least he is forcing the law to be followed. For far to long the D.A. from all over the contry including Indiana have allowed a gun charge to be dropped in a plead agrement instead of going to trial (saves money), and avoids a felon conviction, and then wonder why they call it the revolving door. I'm behind Joe:D

Something a lot of folks don't realize is that we DO have plenty of gun laws on the books....and when you arrest a felon in possession of a firearm, it is a slam dunk trip to a federal joint -( if the fed's will prosecute), provided they are convicted. That is why they immediately plea bargain the charge away.....in a drug bust if there is a firearm anywhere in the vicinity ( again federal) - they can receive an "enhancement" on their sentence due to the gun", they usually give up everybody they know to keep from being convicted on that gun charge. So the prosecutor will let them slide on the gun charge to rack up some more convictions. All about numbers.

In the old days when someone got out of jail, the sheriff gave the man back his horse & his gun & he went on his way. All this crap about 'felons' not being able to have guns comes from the GCA of 1968 which was taken word for word from the Nazi Weapons Act of March 1938 which was signed by Adolf Hitler. Do you really think we should be under a Nazi Law? Many people are in jail now for non-violent crimes like tax crimes which in reality are not crimes at all. If this keeps up everyone in the country will be a felon. This is incrementalism at work, gradually disarming AmeriKa one person at a time.
