Gun ranges give people a chance to do some target practice, but one gun range in Florida is letting customers shoot at people.

Combat City in Orlando brings video game scenarios to life. First you get checked for hidden weapons and ammunition, then your gun is modified so a live round will not fire.

Then they suit you up to protect important areas such as your head and neck. Make no mistake though, you will feel pain.

"There is supposed to be a degree of pain with it so you do learn from it," said owner Dave Kaplan. "Someone's trying to hurt you. You learn how to be as tactical as a civilian can be."

Employees at Combat City said firing at a paper target only improves your shot.

The scenarios they set up test to see if you have what it takes to shoot someone if your life depended on it.

From the website: [You now have the opportunity to shoot other people with your real firearm and be shot. Yes, with a converted barrel you will be using what can be described as 'paintball' for your real pistol. ]

Airsoft is much cheaper, less dangerous (some clown puts bullets in with his simunition) and much easier to go out and try.

For anyone interested in force vs force training or CQB games with a MIL-SIM mindset check these guys out.

Used to do this on the department 10 years or so ago. It was fun, but those masks they made us wear just got in the way when clearing dark buildings. i hated that part.
