She might have gotten a good deal from a private seller (ie old person needing cash), and was looking to make a lil cash.... but yes, it sounds fishy at first glace.

Confusing, poorly written and incomplete article. Sounds very strange from the information provided, um, or not provided. :dunno:

I don't see a problem. That has happened to me 7 times now. Good thing my tax check is coming next week. I need some guns to have stolen, I mean sell. :))

Sounds like a made up story to me as well.

I hope the detectives follow up on the original purchase
of said guns that were stolen.

While being stupid is not a crime,
Insurance fraud and false police reports are.

She bought the guns. Gave/sold them to baby's daddy and now wants to collect insurance, if she has any. :shady:

When you've got documented cases of drug addicts calling the police to report the theft of their drug stash, it's difficult to be surprised at what sort of thought process occurs amongst those people holding down the left tail of the bell curve.

Could be an insurance scam, most auto ownders insurance will replace stolen items.

Actually that would fall under Home Owners insurance and not her Auto insurance. Personal items, especially those not related to the auto, stolen out of a automobile are covered under HO.

If she bought them with the intent of selling for a profit wouldn't she need an FFL?

THAT'S RIGHT! CALL THE BATFE GIRLS!

Isn't this the story people use right before they kill their spouse using a gun that was reported stolen? As in, "It wasn't me, all my guns were stolen."
