Hello all,
I'm looking for a gunsmith in the Avon / Brownsburg area that is seasoned in AK servicing.
Long story short, replaced my lost saiga 7.62 head bolt with non Russian variant. I had to machine it at my shop to resolve obvious fitment issues, however, it is still not 100%. Sometimes when I pull the charging handle back, the bolt carrier assembly will not release forward unless I manipulate it with some force. I have not been able to identify where I'm having clearancing issues. I have yet to fire it, but I suspect that it will not reset the hammer after firing the first round also.
Head spacing needs to be checked too.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Cheers!
