I shot my TC Super 14 in .35 rem today.
With arthritis it tends to make my wrist funky.
Handgun hunting is fun, but shooting boomers over time may lead to wimpitis.
Plus, even hunting.............it can really mess up your hearing.

Didn't have electronic earpro back in the day.

    Tinnitus sucks.

    Buy some. Use it. Religiously.
I always wore it on the target range.

Handgun hunting.......a few .44 mag shockwaves bounced back, plus a few dove shoots............am screwed.

The TC is hitting my quarter sized target dot at 12 oclock. I need to check it on paper at 50. Range has shooters so did not. Picked out a 3" rock in the backstop and shot, exploding the rock. Its close ;)

I've not shot a deer w specialty pistol.
So might pop a doe with this one.
Not many does in our area, and prefer to shoot them w recurve if I do.
But at least the TC is public land legal.
Never know when landowner might sell current hunting spot.

Windy day, few years back. Walked around field and into big woods, had this one walk out below me.
I did the deer bleat, kept walking. Whistled (I can't whistle very good)..........he kept walking.
Yelled "Hey!" and he kept walking. Stopped at Jeep trail turn.

Figured I'd hold the front sight high in the rear, but what sight hold?
Had two choices, based off old shooting w 629 8 3/8".
Tried the first one "BOOM" and he looks around.

    Oops. wrong one. Went over.
He turns and gives me mirror image and I use the other hold and whap him.
Had a 1-4X Burris on it and HATED it. Borrowed gun from pops.
So of course I end up shooting the deer at 150...........iron sighted.
No hero shot though,as the first missed.

Proly shouldn't shoot that far, but he honked me off.
Knew he wasn't big but dang, worst ground shrinkage I ever had.
BTW, that Mountain Dew was my 3rd for the morning, so was just photo opp.
Had one on way up, one in stand........no wonder I had to get down and walk around LOL

200gr Hornady XTP on max charge of WW296.

I have shot two deer with a .44 mag pistol. I won't be using a pistol on any more deer. Could have been less than optimal shot placement on my part, but compared to hitting them with a rifle or shotgun slug, in my experience they just took too long to die, and left me feeling bad about that. Part of my responsibility as a hunter is to deliver the most humane kill as possible to the game that I harvest. I failed in that department when I used the handgun. Hope other's experience has been better than mine. Again, perhaps it was less than optimal shot placement, but I've seen that with other weapons that still delivered a quick kill.

I have shot a buck with an Encore pistol in .243 Win and 7mm-08 and both were gone within 50 yards. This season, I will be gun hunting with iron sighted pistols only. I have a 10mm, a .41 mag and a .44 mag to practice with. Happy hunting friends!
