    too far from nature
I'm looking for some suggestions. I have been reloading .45 ACP for a long time. I just recently started loading 9mm as well. Those are the only two handgun loads that I plan to reload. I have been using Alliant Bullseye Powder for .45ACP and I was always happy with the results. My current supply of Bullseye is almost gone, and I cannot find it in stock anywhere. So, I would like to look at a powder that would be a good choice for .45ACP and 9mm, and would be more likely to find in stock. Any suggestions?

My go to is W231 and Unique but I was in the same situation and Chrono'd a lot of Hodgdon CFE Pistol which as it turns out, it works stellar in both calibers you mentioned.

I've only just begun reloading but I've had good luck with TiteGroup in 9mm. My experience is limited because that's the only caliber I've done so far and not much of it.

For 45 ACP and 9mm Winchester 231 is the old standby.

    Titegroup will work for both.

BE-86 might be a good choice for both but it is a newer option and not a lot of experience. But everything I read about it suggests it would be a good general purpose pistol powder.

    GREAT Suggestions so far...

    Have not seen it mentioned yet-For those two calibers (9MM + .45acp.) I really like Hodgdon's HS-6.

Alliant PowerPistol also does GREAT in these two...Bill.

All the above recommendations are great. With powder being limited, I thought I'd share another option. Red Dot and American Select work for both calibers for moderate target loads.

I like the performance of 231 thus far except it didn't meter well in my throwers. Seems to be real slick (maybe graphite)and throws were all over the place. I am about to the end of my stash. Picked up a couple pounds of Tightgroup to try next.

Also used some Universal with good results in 45 and Unique. It all goes bang. Anymore I buy what is available and stick it on a shelf.

Titegroup have heard is not good for cast bullets but Power Pistol is great stuff, if you can find it. Unique from my experience is so-so in 45acp 185gr.

I like the tight group for 9mm and unique for 45acp , use to use the bullseye for both but no supply for some reason?

    I use Titegroup for 9mm, supersonic 124gr and subsonic 147gr and I use HP-38 (Win 231) for .45 ACP.

I'm using WST in 9mm, .40, and .45. All loads are easy shooting and will cycle everything I ran them in. Another plus is it's relatively clean powder.
