I just got to pondering a easy inexpensive solution for protection of my handguns in the safe. Leaving the guns in their plastic case isn't much of a solution since it takes up too much valuable space. I've seen long rifle socks at Walmart but not for handguns.

One of my concerns is with a "sock" on a hand gun would it promote any type of humidity being trapped inside ? I have a golden rod inside the safe to ward off humidity. What do INGO members recommend ?

Straight, are you worried about rust? Store them like Jay suggests, just oil them up before you.

Once and a while I do an inspection of my safes. I wipe everything (the safe queens) down with Birchwood-Casey Barricades maybe twice a year.

They make them. I've got "Sack Up" brand for pistols. They're made of silicone treated material:

However, Even though they are made to ward off moisture, I never stored pistols in them for lengthy times without taking them out and wiping them down lightly...

The make little pistol racks, or holsters that fit on the door
    Yeah, that ^.

I bought Jay's safe when he upgraded.
He left the pegs in there for me (but not any guns...had to add my own. Go figure!!)

As for moisture control...try this stuff:

I have the 6040 on the door, and two 6010's in the safe. Cheaper than dirt carries 'em cheaper than the manufacturer.

    There ya go^.

    Store them like Jay suggests
    Never bad advice. ;)
