The man who submitted this bill isn't a liberal. He's firmly on the right and is a republican. As far as I can figure, contrasting this bill with those in other states, he may want to insure that vets info is shared through the BMV with the DOVA, so vets can get more money and benefits. Information is power, tho. Not sure the trade off would be worth it for many vets.

it is so one has a verifiable way of checking if someone is a vet.. Probably fall out from people claiming to be a vet to get jobs & other benifits.

allows merchants to offer discounts and such..
as long as it is the users choice, I don't see a problem with it..

i dont see those 20 and 30 year men doing a thing except making sure that the checks keep coming in every month...they like things just the way they are...

...and they've earned every penny of it.... :patriot:

I have VA ID, and don't need any more on my driver's license.........

No purpose, no vote. I wouldn't put my name on a law that nobody really understands.

"No" should be the default vote for all members of Congress. They should have to be convinced that a bill is constitutional, necessary, feasible, responsible, affordable, & popular within your district.

There's a lot of speculation going on here. I too am curious about the intent, but do not feel it's to track veterans because we're considered terrorist threats. They know who we are, where we live and what's in our bank accounts. This the era of instant electronic communication. Just have to check our mailbox 2-3 times per week to realize every insurance and financial products company in the country knows who we are. There are times when we may want to have proof of veterans status. I carry Amrican Legion and VA ID cards. Not all veterans have such secondary membership and/or ID.

But everything is the liberals fault

If the government wanted to track the people in the tin foil hats, they have other means than a drivers license.

I'm with rambone though. If this doesn't serve an obvious purpose and if no one really understands it, then why allow it? I suppose it is voluntary, but it seems like a waste of time for our state to be talking about this when other things are going on.

This would be no different than having your ltch tied to your license or registration. Would this be used by a Leo pulling you over and running your plates and determine how they approach you?

Same here. I have 3 Army IDs already, no need for the DL to change.

Getting out of speeding tickets though...could be sweet. Or would a INGO bumper sticker do me better?
